Representatives of the management of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber (BCC) were on an official visit to Oslo, Norway, at the invitation of Kjetil Toning, elected as FIEC President, taking office from 2018. The visit was attended by Eng. Nikolay Stankov, Chairman of the MB of BCC, Eng. Lyubomir Kachamakov, member of the EB and MB of BCC, Chairman of Section “High-Rise Construction” of the Chamber and member of the Board of Directors of Stroitel Newspaper EAD, Reneta Nikolova, procurator and editor-in-chief of Stroitel Newspaper, Maria Zheleva, chief expert in Department “International Activity and Projects” of BCC.
The Bulgarian representatives met with Kari Sandberg, Executive Director of the Norwegian Contractors Association (EBA) – the largest organization in the group of the Federation of Norwegian Construction Industries and member of the Board of Byggeindustrien. The visit continued with a working meeting with Marit Due Langaas, secretary of the Nordic Road Association (NVF) – international organization which brings together organizations members of the public and private sector from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
The editor-in-chief of the magazine “Construction Industry” (Byggeindustrien) Arve Brekkhus hosted the next visit. The publication, which has a printed version and a site, is the leading media in the construction industry in Norway and is owned by ЕВА. The delegation’s program included also visits to important implemented infrastructure projects and projects under construction. The construction manager of the new Edvard Munch’s museum in Oslo Bente Lillestol presented the construction stages of the extravagant and complex project that will open on 12 December 2018 – the birthday of the Norwegian painter expressionist.
During the visit, a number of topics of mutual interest were discussed; steps were set for the future development of the partnership between BCC and the Norwegian construction organization, as well as possible areas for cooperation. With the newly elected President of FIEC Kjetil Toning were discussed the forthcoming activities of BCC within FIEC and the newly established Group for Central and Eastern Europe initiated by the Bulgarian Construction Chamber.
