Contracts amounting to BGN 1,9 Billion are signed under OPIC 2014 – 2020

5 procedures under the Operational Programme are to be launched in 2019

„Within the period from starting the implementation of the OP „Innovation and Competitiveness 2014 – 2020“ (OPIC 2014 – 2020) until 15.01.2019 the number of the signed grant contracts under the all 5 priority axes is 2022. After the amendments endorsed by the EC at the end of 2018, the total budget of the Operational Programme is approximately BGN 2,6 Billion, and the amount of already contracted funds is BGN 1,9 Billion. The Managing Authority (MA) achieved a high rate of implementation the verification of 1222 final reports submitted by the beneficiaries on successfully completed projects.“

This information was announced to „Stroitel“ Newspaper by the Directorate General on European Competitiveness Funds at the Ministry of Economy, which acts as Managing Authority for OPIC 2014 – 2020.
Considerable progress has also been made in respect to the funds paid, which amount to BGN 922,7 million, that corresponds to 37,1% of the total programme budget. The certified funds amount to BGN 780 million, or approximately 30% of OPIC 2014 – 2020 resource. The number of successfully completed individual projects is 1192, and contracts with ongoing activities are 768.

As of 31 December 2018, the launched grant procedures cover 83.59% of the operational programme budget. In 2019, a total of 5 OPIC 2014-2020 procedures are going to be launched, as follows: 3 are for competitive selection process directly intended for the business, and 2 are for direct consignment with specific beneficiaries. According to the announced by the MA information, the companies from construction sector can apply for these procedures: „Stimulating the innovation activity of existing entrepreneurs“ and „Development of Innovative Clusters“ (when the company is part of a similar cluster). Both procedures are within Priority Axis 1 „Technological Development and Innovation“ and are related to the implementation of innovation activities“.
