Ministry of Environment and Water (MEW) will announce 14 calls for proposals in different priority axes with a total resource BGN 1 billion under OP “Environment 2014 – 2020” by the end of 2015, said in an interview for “Stroitel” newspaper Ivelina Vasileva , Minister of Environment and Water. The total cost of the program is nearly BGN 3.5 billion. Minister Vasileva pointed out that the first procedures for BGN 711 million will be announced after the Monitoring Committee of “OPE 2014 – 2020” held today (3 July).
They will be directed to support the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works in the work on implementation of steps to the water reform. The development of regional feasibility studies will be funded. “MEW will continue to provide funds under the program for the drafting of legislation related to implementation of the water reform. “OPE 2014 – 2020” as a financial instrument, in accordance with the requirements of EC, Partnership Agreement and other strategic documents appears supportive in the implementation of the change in the industry,” said Minister Vasileva.
By the end of the year will be allocated money for composting installations, in accordance with the National Waste Management Plan. From the eco ministry will assist the municipalities with funds to develop their proposals and implement them. Local administrations will also be invited, to be able to implement the so-called early projects. This is an arrangement that has been reached with the European Commission at the stage of negotiations under “OPE 2014 – 2020”. Thus, while the process of implementation of the reform and the preparing of feasibility studies is running, the process will be able to continue and to implement proposals that are in a mature phase, ready for construction.
“We have very good cooperation with the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria both in operational order and in relation to long-term initiatives, such as work on the Public Procurement Act,” said Minister Vasileva and added that jointly are developed standard documents for the tenders, which is a very important element of the objective to simplify procedures and eliminate mistakes made during the previous programming period. “Our task is to improve the capacities of the industry,” she stressed and thanked the Chamber for the efforts to achieve a new phase in the development of the program, namely its acceleration.
