Nikolina Angelkova: We are at the finish line with the Tourism Act amendments

The program provides funds to the amount of EUR 102 M

Mrs. Angelkova, you visited many international tourism exhibitions. What is the effect of them? In 2015 Bulgaria participated in over 35 international and 5 national exhibitions. These are tourism fairs for targeted at us markets, as one of the largest and most important are those in Berlin, Moscow and London. Our participation in every tourist exhibition is entirely consistent with the interests of co-exhibitors and trends of the market. Bulgaria’s presentation at these events is on a regional and product basis. Thus some regions may advertise their tourist advantages to foreign partners and end users. We promoted the country as a year-round tourist destination, suitable not only for summer vacation and winter holidays, but also for the practice of any other type of tourism – cultural, historical, spa and wellness, golf, mountain, eco, rural, gourmet, wine, sports. I think that in a year we managed to increase the visibility of our country as a high quality tourist destination, which except extremely good price/quality ratio, can offer to tourists also what is most sought today – authentic and positive experiences. How would you interact with the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria in solving the problem with the construction of tourist infrastructure? We maintain an active partnership with professional and industry associations from various sectors, because tourism is linked to many other activities and depends on their effectiveness. One of these organizations is the Bulgarian Construction Chamber and I use the occasion to thank for this cooperation. I am convinced that it makes our work of more expertise and quality. This applies not only to the vision of our resorts but for instance for compliance of the requirements in categorization of tourist sites, in building their adjacent and bringing infrastructure and in many other cases. I believe there are many other topics on which we can deepen our cooperation and be even more useful to each other.
