Board outlined BCC priorities for 2013
Priorities include anti-discriminatory criteria in tenders and adoption of new Code of Ethics of the ChamberWe succeeded to accomplish the tasks set for the period 2011-2012 and we can conclude that the organization is much stronger, socially significant and well-integrated into civil society in the country. We are a respected member of the European community of builders. This was stated at the beginning of the presentation of priorities of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber (BCC) for next year by the Chairman of the organization Eng. Svetoslav Glosov to the enlarged Board that met in Dobrich. “Along with the good things we have to take into account that we live and work in conditions of severe economic crisis affecting most our business. This obliges us to continue with even greater efforts our activities,” he said. One of the goals is to continue the process of improving the transparency of public procurement procedures in construction. This will be achieved through better regulation, exclusion of discriminatory conditions, making the tendering criteria for “lowest price” an exception. “For this purpose we will continue to monitor the tender procedures, we will work for the introduction of standard contracts and conditions. We will seek to impose engineering as a form of implementation of large and complex projects. At the same time we will work to simplify the procedures, reduce the numerous documents for tenders and increase the role of CPRB,” explained Eng. Glosov.
